Design Of A Novel Lamb Wave Device Filter Enables Phase Modulation Using a Controllable Stress in the Piezoelectric Film

Several MEMS-based modulator structures have been reported in the literature [1,2], typically incorporating electrical components and transmission lines alongside MEMS structures. In contrast, the proposed approach relies solely on mechanical structures, utilizing a high-Q band-pass Lamb wave (LW) filter. The bandwidth of the message signal is determined by the mechanical response of the thin film and requires investigation through both simulations and experimental studies. This research can build upon the two-port LW filter design implemented last semester by graduate student Widesh Gahar [3].
